Search for hit and run driver continues.

Los Angeles- On Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at approximately 7:45 a.m., a severe injury hit and run traffic collision occurred on Beverly Blvd just east of Robinson Street in Rampart Area.

Emma Cermeno, 48 years old, a resident of Los Angeles, and her 5 year old grandson, Alvin Fuentes, were crossing northbound on Beverly Blvd just east of Robinson Street when they were struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound on Beverly Blvd.  The driver of the vehicle never stopped and continued eastbound on Beverly Blvd.  

Cermeno was transferred from LAC+USC Medical Center to California Hospital Medical Center with injuries to her right arm.  Fuentes remains hospitalized at Children’s Hospital, Los Angeles, with injuries to his jaw, left eye, and internal injuries.

The hit and run vehicle is described as an early 2000 Lincoln Navigator, gray in color.  There is no driver description.  Video evidence shows the hit and run vehicle making a left turn from Hoover Street to eastbound Beverly Blvd just seconds before the collision.

On Thursday, January 15, 2015, at 8:00 a.m., detectives from Central Traffic Division will be distributing bulletins the residents of Hoover Street asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the hit and run driver.
