Officers searching for suspect near Buena Vista Elemenary School. School has been locked down.

Walnut Creek PD is currently involved in a police activity in the area of Buena Vista Elementary School (Buena Vista Ave, San Juan Ave, Alvarado Ave). A possible homicide suspect from San Francisco ran from police and is believed to be in the area. Police are actively searching in this area. Please avoid the area until further notice. Buena Vista Elementary and Contra Costa Christian schools have been locked down.

Instructions:

Please stay in your home and be alert to a possible suspect hiding in your yard. The suspect is described as a black male in his twenties with short hair.
