(Fort Wayne, IN)-A Detective and a Motor Carrier Inspector assigned to the Indiana State Police Post in Fort Wayne have recently achieved longevity milestones in their service to the Department and to the citizens of Indiana.
• First Sergeant Mark A. Carunchia of DeKalb County was recognized for 35 years of service. Carunchia was appointed as a Trooper on August 19, 1979 as a graduate of the 37th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy. During his career, Carunchia has served the Department as a technical accident investigator, has attended numerous investigative schools and is a member of the Department’s “Possible Club” for firearms proficiency. Carunchia currently serves as the District Investigative Coordinator.
• Master Motor Carrier Inspector Joseph E. Robinson of Allen County was recognized for 35 years of service. Robinson was appointed on August 7, 1979 as a building custodian at the Fort Wayne Post. In 1985 Robinson trained and became a mechanic’s assistant where he conducted routine maintenance of the District’s fleet of patrol and administrative vehicles. In 1994, Robinson completed the training for and was reassigned to the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division as a Motor Carrier Inspector at the Fort Wayne Post, a position that he maintains to this day. During his career, he has held certifications in the Motor Carrier Service Assistance Program (MCSAP), Hazardous Materials, Motor Coach, and he has also been involved in the training of new Inspectors at the District and the with the certifications for Troopers involved with MCSAP.
