Prior to dealing with the call above, Officer Ehling had a known 61 year old adult male run from him near G Street.  Officer Riechers responded to help Officer Ehling because he was tied up on the above noted call.  Officer Riechers found the 61 year old riding his bicycle near Second St. and G Street at approximately 10:50 a.m.  Officer Ehling responded and took custody of the male and arrested him for failing to register with the police department as a sex offender.

#013 Attempt Burglary
Officers responded to an attempt burglary on the 43100 block of Isle Royal St. at 12:08 pm.  A witness called to report that a male subject was climbing into a neighbor’s bathroom window.  Officers immediately set up containment on the house and eventually cleared it with a Newark K9 for any potential suspects.  Further investigation revealed it was an attempt only.  The suspect was described as wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and denim pants.

Residential Burglaries: A series of residential burglaries /attempted burglaries occurred consecutively within a short period of time. In all three cases, the rear sliding glass door was shattered.  A possible suspect vehicle is described as a dark colored, older model Lexus sedan.

#037 Residential Burglary
At approximately 8:25 p.m., a resident on Merlot Dr. returned home from dinner and found his home had been burglarized.  The master bedroom was ransacked and currency was taken. A rear sliding glass door had been shattered, which was likely the point of entry.  A neighbor has video that investigators are following up on.

#038 Attempt Residential Burglary
At 9:01 p.m. while at the burglary on Merlot, dispatch broadcast over the radio that an alarm was sounding from a residence on the 48600 block of Tonopah Ct.  Officers arrived and found the gate to the backyard partially open.  It appears the suspect(s) entered the backyard via this gate.  Once inside the backyard, the suspect(s) smashed the sliding glass door, triggering the alarm.  It doesn't appear the suspect(s) made entrance to the residence and were likely scared off by the audible alarm.

#040 Attempt Residential Burglary
At 9:23 p.m., a resident on Kansas Way was home when he heard a loud sound from downstairs.  He went down to see what caused the noise and he discovered the rear sliding glass door was shattered.  He did not see or hear anyone leaving the area and entry was not made into the residence. A perimeter was established and multiple backyards were searched with a K-9.  The K-9 indicated a scent over a backyard fence and there was an area disturbed in the planter box where it appeared a suspect jumped the fence.

Officers were unable to determine what was used to shatter the windows.
