HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA – January 12, 2015- On January 11, 2015, a suspect was arrested by Hollister Police after a vehicle pursuit and short foot chase in Hollister.
At about 8:00 pm last night, Officer Luis Toribio was working patrol when he noticed a suspicious vehicle near the intersection of Sunnyslope Road and Valleyview Road. When Officer Toribio turned his vehicle around to investigate, the driver of the suspect vehicle turned off the headlights and began driving through stop signs.
Officer Toribio attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver refused and led Officer Toribio in a vehicle pursuit that continued westbound on Union Road and then northbound on San Benito Street. The suspect driver arrived at the intersection with Nash Road where he failed to negotiate a turn onto westbound Nash Road and his vehicle collided with a vehicle that was stopped at the intersection.
The suspect then continued driving his vehicle on Nash Road until he turned on Suiter Street and collided with a fence at a home on the 500 block of Nash Road. The driver, later identified as Julio Cesar Perez (23) from Hollister, ran from the vehicle but was captured by Officer Toribio about 100 yards away.
Perez was currently on State Parole and was wearing ankle monitor. He was transported to the San Benito County Jail where he was booked for evading in a vehicle, parole violation, bringing illicit substances into jail, resisting arrest and driving without a license. He will also be facing charges of leaving the scene of two vehicle collisions.

HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA – Enero 12, 2015- El 11 de enero de 2015, un sospechoso fue arrestado por la policía de Hollister después de una persecución de vehículos y persecución de pie en Hollister.
Aproximadamente a las 20:00 horas, el Oficial Luis Toribio estaba trabajando patrullando cuando notó un vehículo sospechoso cerca de la intersección de Sunnyslope Road y Valleyview Road. Cuando el Oficial Toribio intento investigar, el conductor del vehículo sospechoso apago las luces y comenzó a conducir pasando los altos sin parar.
Oficial Toribio trató de detener el vehículo, pero el conductor se negó y llevó el Oficial Toribio en una persecución de vehículo que continuó hacia el oeste de la Unión Road y luego hacia el norte por San Benito Street. El conductor llegó a la intersección con Nash Road, donde él no pudo negociar un giro en dirección oeste por Nash Road y su vehículo chocó con otro vehículo que estaba detenido en la intersección.
El sospechoso luego continuó conduciendo su vehículo por Nash Road hasta que llego a la calle Suiter y chocó con una cerca de una casa en la cuadra 500 de Nash Road. El conductor, identificado como Julio César Pérez (23) de Hollister, salió corriendo del vehículo, pero fue capturado por el Oficial Toribio a unos 100 metros de distancia.
Pérez estabe actualmente en Estado de Libertad Condicional y llevaba un monitor por el tobillo. Pérez fue trasladado a la Cárcel del Condado de San Benito donde él enfrenta cargos de evadir en un vehículo, violación de libertad condicional, traer sustancias ilícitas en la cárcel, resistencia a la autoridad y conducir sin licencia. Él también se enfrentara cargos de abandonar la escena de dos colisiones de vehículos.
