Sonoma County Sheriff's Office Detectives are searching for an inmate who walked away from a work crew. Updated with photo.

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office has obtained an arrest warrant for Michael Brandon Gentuso.

Gentuso was an inmate at the North County Adult Detention Facility. He was assigned on a work crew and was a minimum security inmate. He is not considered a serious threat to public safety.

Gentuso is a 38 year old transient from Santa Rosa. He is described as a white male, 5’11”, 170 lbs, short brown hair, hazel eyes, last seen wearing the NCDF denim uniform. He has discarded that clothing and it is not known how is currently dressed.

Please see the attached booking photo of Gentuso.

Gentuso was last seen at about 7:45 AM, in the area of West Steele Lane and Cleveland Avenue, Santa Rosa, where he discarded his jail clothing and fled. A search of the area by Sonoma County Sheriffs’ Office Deputies and Officers from Santa Rosa Police Department did not locate Gentuso.

Gentuso was booked into custody on December 23rd and was convicted of Possession of a Controlled Substance on January 7th. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail and was scheduled to be released on April 3, 2015.

Walking away from a work crew is considered an escape from custody and is felony.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Gentuso is encouraged to call the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office at 707-565-2650 or their local law enforcement agency.
