NARRATIVE:

On Friday evening, January 9, 2015, an inmate attempted to escape from the Court Services Transportation secure compound while deputies were off-loading inmates, who were returning from court, from the transportation bus.  When all of the inmates were out of the bus the deputies conducted a head count of the inmates before returning them to the Inmate Reception Center (IRC). When they discovered the count was off by one the deputies began a second count and at the same time heard a radio broadcast that an inmate was running across the compound. Deputies ran after the inmate and when he refused to comply with the deputy’s orders to stop he was taken to the ground and handcuffed. 

A deputy was treated at a local hospital for complaint of pain. The inmate was treated at the Men’s Central Jail clinic for complaint of pain.  Suspect James Moore who is currently in custody for carjacking will be additionally charged with attempt escape.
