On 9 January 2014, the Clayton County Sheriff's Office Cobra team seized 20 ounces of liquid GHB on a traffic stop. GHB is commonly known as the Date Rape Drug. GHB is a synthetic drug that acts as a depressant on the nervous center. It has the effect of making a person unable to recall details while they are under the influence of the drug. Suspects are known to add GHB to unsuspecting peoples drinks so a sexual assault can go undetected. The drug is clear so it is difficult to detect when packaged in a drink bottle. Please be diligent and monitor your beverage while in public places. Never drink from a beverage that has been left unattended. Sheriff Victor Hill.
