Four New Troops Arrive at the Lafayette Post

Four new troopers reported for duty at the Lafayette Post on January 05. They graduated from the Indiana State Police Academy on December 23rd as part of the Indiana State Police 74th Recruit Class. Their graduation was the culmination of 23 weeks of intense training and hard work.

The four received 929 hours of training that included criminal and traffic law, crash investigations, emergency vehicle operations, defensive tactics, firearms, and a host of other subjects related to modern policing. The next step for them will be working with a series of experienced Field Training Officers, over the next three months. The purpose of the field training is to put practical application towards their training received over the past six months. Upon successful completion of the field training program, the new troopers will be issued their own patrol vehicles and begin solo patrol in their respective counties.

Alaina Corinne Zloty is from Indianapolis and attended Murray State University in Kentucky where she majored in Criminal Justice. After graduating, she worked for the Indiana Department of Corrections as a prison guard at Pendleton, IN till her acceptance into the academy. Her primary patrol duties will be Benton, Warren, Fountain and Montgomery Counties.
