Two New Troopers at the Fort Wayne Post
(Fort Wayne, IN) – Two new troopers reported on Monday for their first day of work at the Indiana State Police Post in Fort Wayne. Troopers Jeffrey A. Goehring and Anthony J. Repass graduated from the 74th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy on December 23, 2014. Their graduation was the culmination of 23 weeks of intense training and hard work.
Troopers Goehring and Repass received 929 hours of training that included criminal and traffic law, crash investigations, emergency vehicle operations, defensive tactics, firearms, and a host of other subjects related to modern policing.
The next step for the two will be working with a series of experienced Field Training Officers over the next three months. The purpose of the field training is to put to practical application the training received over the past six months. Upon successful completion of the field training program, the new Troopers will be issued their own state police patrol vehicle and will begin solo patrol.
Goehring, an Allen County native, graduated from Elmhurst High School and was a Dispatcher for three years at the Fort Wayne Post before his acceptance to the 74th Recruit School. He will be assigned patrol duties in Allen County. Repass, a Marion County native, graduated from Lawrence North High School and is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He will be assigned patrol duties in the southern part of the Fort Wayne District which encompasses Adams, Blackford, Jay and Wells Counties.
