DATE OF RELEASE: January 8, 2015
The female passenger injured in the DUI related traffic collision on December 30, 2014 has died from her injuries. Sherry Yu, 31 of Los Angeles was seated in the front passenger seat of the Acura Integra which was making a left turn from eastbound Rowland Avenue to northbound Azusa Avenue. The Honda Civic driven by Suspect Raymond Alvarado was travelling west on Rowland and failed to stop for the red light at Azusa colliding into the Acura.
Investigators have notified the District Attorney’s Office of the victim’s death for consideration of additional charges. Alvarado remains in custody on $210,000.00 bail.
