UPDATE - Big Bear - The search for missing person Lisa Cimbaluk continues

LOCATION: North Shore Drive, Big Bear
VICTIM: Lisa Cimbaluk age 35 of Irvine

SUMMARY:
UPDATE - 01/07/15 5:30 p.m.
The search for Lisa Cimbaluk has concluded for the day. Search efforts will resume tomorrow morning. Searchers have located several articles within the search area, including clothing, glass and plastic beverage bottles, and other trash. The areas within the search parameters are heavily traveled by visitors and residents alike and it is not uncommon to find discarded items in these public spaces. Investigators are in the process of trying to determine if any of the articles that have been located belong to the missing person. Searchers are exploring all possibilities, including the shoreline and forested areas surrounding the vicinity where Cimbaluk’s vehicle was located.

UPDATE- Wednesday, January 7, 2015/ 2:00 p.m.
The search for missing person Lisa Cimbaluk continues today in the Woodland Trailhead near Big Bear. Search and rescue personnel from Kern County, Orange County, and Los Angeles County continue to assist in the search. A total of 53 search and rescue members are diligently searching the area where Lisa’s car was found, and have also expanded the search area. Sheriff’s aviation continues to assist with aerial searches. Updates will be provided as they become available.

UPDATE - Tuesday, January 6, 2015 - 3:10 p.m.
The search for missing person Lisa Cimbaluk is continuing. Fifty-eight search and rescue members are actively searching the area where her vehicle was located and have expanded the search of the Woodland Trailhead. Search and Rescue members from Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and Kern Counties are assisting. Sheriff's aviation continues to conduct aerial searches.

Additional information will be provided when it becomes available.

UPDATE - Monday, January 5, 2015 - 7:50 p.m.
The search for Lisa Cimbaluk continued throughout the day with approximately 25 search and rescue members searching the area in and around where her vehicle was found in the North Shore Parking Lot to include the Woodland Trail. Citizen on Patrol members continued to handout flyers in and around surrounding communities and businesses. Sheriff's aviation assisted the search efforts by conducting aerial searches. The search has been suspended for the evening and will reconvene Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m.

The San Bernardino Sheriff’s are seeking the public’s help. Lisa Cimbaluk is described as Caucasian, 5' 5", 150lbs, with brown hair and blue eyes.

On Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 2:16 a.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office Big Bear Station Discovered the snow covered vehicle of a missing woman at the Woodland Trailhead in Fawnskin. Lisa Cimbaluk was reported missing from Irvine on 12-29-2014 by her parents. Deputies and volunteers searched the area yesterday for the missing woman and are very concerned due to the overnight temperatures in the area.
