Stevenson Ranch, Zone 3, Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information. Snapshot for the week of 12/29/2014 to 01/04/2015.

Last week in Zone 3, the following Part-1 Crimes occurred:

A Stevenson Ranch (Zone 3) Weekly Crime Breakdown (12/29/14 – 01/04/15)

An assault with a deadly weapon/ domestic assault incident occurred in the 25300 block of The Old Road. The suspect, a Lemon Grove resident, went to his ex-girlfriend’s residence. While in the carport area, the suspect struck the victim multiple times causing her to fall to the ground. The suspect then ran over the victim’s leg with his vehicle and fled. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies when he returned to the scene.

A commercial burglary incident occurred in the 26900 block of The Old Road. The suspect entered the business by prying open the rear security door. The suspect then stole five high end glasses from the display case.

Another commercial burglary occurred at the intersection of Potrero Canyon Road & Highway 126. Unknown suspect(s) entered the property stole two chain saws and a generator from inside storage containers.

A grand theft (automobile) occurred in the 24900 block of Constitution Avenue. The victim’s adult son took the victim’s 2001 Honda Civic without her consent.

A shoplifting (burglary) incident occurred in the 25400 block of The Old Road. The suspect entered the store, placed merchandise into a plastic storage container in her shopping cart, and left without paying for the items. The victim fled the location when confronted by loss prevention personnel. The case is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

Here are a few safety tips to keep in mind when away from home for extended periods of time:

- Lock all doors and windows.

- Use timers so lights, radio, TV, go on and off throughout the house to indicate someone is home.

- Ask a neighbor or friend to collect your delivered mail and newspapers.

- Don’t leave a spare key under your doormat or in a nearby pot.
