Five New Troopers Report For Duty At The Versailles Post

Versailles (Update) - The photographs of the other four troopers are attached to this update.

Versailles – Five new Troopers were welcomed for their first day of work Monday at the Versailles state police post. Trooper Dustin Marshall, Trooper Jacob Tolle, Trooper Nicholas Albrecht, Trooper Joshua Lynch and Trooper Chad Synder each graduated from the Indiana State Police Academy on December 23, 2014 as part of the Indiana State Police 74th Recruit Class. Their graduation was the culmination of 23 weeks of intense training and hard work.

While at the academy, the troopers received 929 hours of instruction that included criminal and traffic laws, firearms, crash investigations, emergency vehicle operations, defensive tactics and a host of other subjects related to modern policing.

The next phase of training for these Probationary Troopers will be working alongside a series of experienced Field Training Officers for the next three months. The purpose of the field training is to put to practical application the training they received during the past six months.

Upon successful completion of the field training program, each trooper will be issued a state police patrol car and will begin solo patrol of the highways and roads of the ten counties that encompass the Versailles District.

Dustin Marshall, a Fayette County native, graduated from Connersville High School in 1999. Marshall participated in football, wrestling and baseball while at Connersville High School.
