On January 5, 2015 at approximately 3:45 PM Officer Bailey Emilo of the Burlington Police Department was responding lights and siren to a call when she was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Battery Street and College Street. While proceeding through the intersection she collided with Govinda Serchan, 64, of South Burlington. Officer Emilo’s vehicle struck the driver’s side front quarter panel of Serchan’s vehicle and then veered off and hit a light pole on the southeast corner of the intersection, causing extensive front end and passenger side damage to her police vehicle. Serchan’s vehicle received moderate damage to the front quarter panel.
