1/3/15, press release: One Car Motor Vehicle Collision

On January 3, 2014 at 1602 hours, the Burlington Police Department responded to the intersection of Manhattan Drive and Route 127 in the City of Burlington for a one car motor vehicle collision. Witnesses at the scene advised that the operator of the vehicle fled on foot from the scene.

Upon the officers’ arrival they learned that a green Subaru had been traveling south on Route 127 and traveled south through the Manhattan Drive intersection. The Subaru then traveled onto the yard of 165 Manhattan Drive striking the guide wire to a Burlington Electric pole in the process. There was no significant damage to the actual pole and there was no interference with power or other utilities.

Witnesses at the scene advised that the operator of the vehicle was a 25-30 year old, Caucasian male, wearing a black puffy jacket and a green sweatshirt. The witnesses observed the male flee east on Manhattan Drive and then south on Lafountain Street. There were no known injuries.

The operator of the motor vehicle was not located on the date of this incident and the collision is still being investigated.
