Velpen Man Arrested for Fleeing after Brief Chase
Pike County – Yesterday afternoon at approximately 4:28, Trooper John Davis was patrolling SR 257 north of Velpen when he observed the driver of a 2008 Mitsubishi speeding and driving left of center near CR 250 South. The vehicle was clocked by radar at 65 mph in a 55 mph zone. When Davis activated his emergency lights and siren the driver of the Mitsubishi accelerated and continued southbound in excess of 90 mph. After traveling approximately one mile, the driver of the Mitsubishi turned right onto 3rd St in Velpen and then left into an alley where the driver eventually stopped. The driver was identified as Tracey Scott, 40, of Velpen. He was arrested without further incident. Further investigation revealed he was driving on a suspended driver’s license. He was taken to the Pike County Jail where he is currently being held without bond.
