GPD would like to thank the citizens of Gardena for their continued participation in our District Policing Program. Our city is divided into three policing districts: District 1, District 2, and District 3. Each district is commanded by a Police Lieutenant. Each district is also assigned a District Sergeant and four (4) District Officers. Each District Team is not only responsible for law enforcement throughout the City of Gardena, but is also specifically responsible and accountable for fighting crime, dealing with quality of life issues, and continuing community outreach in their respective districts.

District 1
(El Segundo Blvd to Rosecrans Ave/Vermont Ave to Crenshaw Blvd)
Lieutenant Russ Temple has been chosen to command the GPD Detective Bureau. District 1 will now be commanded by Lieutenant Steve Prendergast, who formerly commanded our Special Operations Bureau. Lieutenant Prendergast can be reached at:

District Lieutenants will be posting Neighborhood Watch Group meeting dates for 2015 on the GPD website (www.gardenapd.org). Please keep an eye out for these meetings and feel free to get involved in your community!
