On December 26TH, 2014, at approximately 4:34 PM, Burlington Police Officers were dispatched to the area near the Merchants Bank ATM for a report of an attempted robbery. A female victim told police that when she was attempting to use the ATM to conduct a transaction, a male suspect demanded that she give him her money. The male suspect displayed a knife during the incident. The female victim advised that the suspect was not able to get any money from her as she did not have any money at the time.
Investigation revealed that the male suspect was 22 year old, David A. Morrison of Burlington, VT. Morrison was recently arrested on December 24TH, 2014 for a similar robbery incident that occurred on December 17TH, 2014 at another bank ATM.
Morrison is being charged with Assault & Robbery and Violation of Conditions of Release. Morrison is currently being held on $50,000 bail pending his court appearance on Monday, December 29TH, 2014.
