Press Release re the fatal traffic accident on Anza at Arvada Street 
On December 22, 2014, at approximately 7:12 p.m., officers from the Torrance Police Department responded to a fatal traffic collision at Anza Avenue and Arvada Street.
On arrival, officers discovered that a 2005 Volkswagen SUV was traveling northbound on Anza Avenue when it collided with a pedestrian who was walking across the street. The pedestrian was identified as a 68-year old female who succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the Volkswagen was not injured.
Northbound and Southbound traffic lanes on Anza Avenue at Arvada Street were closed for approximately three hours during the investigation.
This collision is being investigated by the Torrance Police Department’s Traffic Division under the command of Captain Rodney Irvine, Commander of the Special Operations Bureau.
