On December 12^th, two board members from the Orcutt Youth Football League (OYFL) came to the Sheriff's Santa Maria station to file an allegation of embezzlement against the former league president, 35-year-old Tyrome Lamar Lee of Orcutt.  Lee had been the president for the past year and resigned shortly after being questioned by board members about discrepancies in the league's bank account.  An internal audit showed the league to be short by more than $20,000, with a multitude of questionable checks, falsified invoices and suspicious cash withdrawals.

An investigation immediately followed which uncovered evidence that Lee had made unauthorized cash withdrawals, falsified invoices and apparently embezzled a little more than $20,000 in league funds.  A search warrant was secured and on December 20, Lee was stopped for a traffic infraction while driving his BMW and was cited for driving on a suspended license.  He voluntarily came to the Sheriff's station for an interview on the embezzlement allegation.  The interview culminated with his arrest for felony embezzlement.  He was booked into the Santa Maria Jail on $25,000 bail.  He posted bail and was released the same day.

Also on December 20^th, a search warrant was served on his vehicle and residence.  Numerous electronic devices were seized, along with evidence to support the embezzlement charge.  Additionally, two firearms were found and seized at the residence.  Lee is a convicted felon and  therefore cannot legally possess any firearms.  An additional charge for this violation will be requested via the Santa Barbara County District Attorney's Office.
