Burglary Arrests

(Etowah County, Alabama) Three individuals have been arrested in connection to a recent burglary, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“Shirley Renea Bearden, 47, Stephen Craig Mayo, 55, and Rodney Durand Reynolds, 46, all of Gadsden, were arrested and each charged with one count of third degree burglary, which is a felony,” investigator Seth Williamson said. The incident took place on December 19.

The trio was in the process of burglarizing a residence on Bellamy Road, Boaz, when the home owner called 9-1-1. The burglars fled the scene and the home owner was able to give deputies a good description of the white, GMC Sonoma truck that they left in.

Deputy Chad White found the truck, along with Bearden and Mayo behind a residence on Johns Road, Boaz. Deputy Chad Langdale found Reynolds walking down Egypt Road.

Miscellaneous property from the Bellamy Road residence was discovered in the back of the truck was properly identified and returned to the rightful owner.

Bearden is currently being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $2,500 bond. Mayo and Reynolds were each booked into the detention center and later released on $2,500 bond.
