Seven Rochester Residents Arrested on 23 Criminal Charges

Rochester – Last night, the execution of a Fulton Superior Court arrest warrant by Troopers Luke Bowyer and Ben Reason led to the arrests of seven people on a total of 23 criminal charges. Officers also recovered approximately 160 grams of marijuana and $3,000 in United States currency.

Last night, Troopers Reason and Bowyer went to a residence at 949 Park Street in Rochester to serve a Fulton Superior Court arrest warrant on Jamie Miller, 48. The warrant alleged three felony counts, two counts for battery and a single charge for residential entry. While serving the warrant, troopers allegedly smelled the odor of burnt marijuana inside the residence.

Officers applied for and were granted a Fulton Circuit Court search warrant for the Park Street residence. Officers from the Indiana State Police, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, and the Rochester Police Department executed the search warrant. Officers purportedly found approximately 160 grams of marijuana, prescription medication, approximately $3,000 in United States currency, and numerous items of drug paraphernalia. A majority of the marijuana and money was found hidden above a ceiling tile in the home.

In addition to Miller, there were six other people in the home. Three were minors; a 16-year boy, a 16-year-old girl, and a 17-year-old boy. The 17-year-old faces criminal charges for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a schedule II narcotic. He was released into the care of the Fulton County Division of the Indiana Department of Child Services. Both 16-year-olds were charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were both released into the custody of their parents.

Miller was arrested on the warrant for two counts of battery and a single charge for residential entry. She also faces additional charges for neglect of a dependent, maintaining a common nuisance, three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, dealing marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jordan Penn, 19, Aubrey Gates, 22, and Dylan Zellers, 19, all from Rochester, were charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. All of the adults were incarcerated in the Fulton County Jail.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law
