CREDIT CARD FRAUD THEFT SUSPECT ARRESTED
On December 18, 2014, Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Property Crimes Detectives arrested 34 year old Santa Rosa resident Jessika Lauren Smith for fraudulent use of a credit card.
Smith is on Felony Probation in Sonoma County for two prior theft convictions in 2011 and 2012. Recently she used credit card numbers she obtained from her former employer’s customer records to make on-line payments of her rent. Smith used three separate cards for three consecutive months, totaling $3,000 of theft.
Smith also had an arrest warrant for credit card fraud from a previous Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office case where Smith used her then-employer’s customer’s credit card account number to pay her outstanding utility bill of over $1,000.
Smith was booked into the Sonoma County Jail for violation of probation, felony theft by use credit card and the outstanding felony arrest warrant for credit card fraud. She is being held without bail and is scheduled for arraignment on December 22nd at 1:30.
