There have been 7 burglaries reported in the Leimert Park area (Rodeo Rd to Vernon Ave and Crenshaw Bl to Arlington Ave) and nearby neighborhoods since Sunday. This, along with a spike in burglaries in the area over the past month Is A Cause For concern. LAPD Southwest area officers are asking for the community's assistance in keeping an eye out on their neighborhood and reporting ANY suspicious activity immediately. Many of these burglaries have occurred during the week day between the hours of 8am to 3pm. With long holidays coming up, residents are reminded to let their trusted neighbors know if they will be leaving so that they can keep an eye out for any persons lurking around the unattended properties. Please pay attention to unfamiliar persons walking or loitering around residential streets, talking on cell phones, knocking on doors, walking down driveways. If it looks suspicious it's worth calling it in. Please provide the description of the person and location.
