Amarillo Crime Stoppers: Wanted MURDER suspect Jose Hernandez has increased reward of up to $2,000

The family of murder victim, Sal Ramirez and Amarillo Crime Stoppers have partnered together to offer an increased reward of up to $2,000 for wanted suspect Jose Miguel Hernandez. Amarillo Crime Stoppers needs your help locating this week`s fugitive, Jose Miguel Hernandez who has a warrant out of Potter County for MURDER. If you have any information on Jose Hernandez, contact Amarillo Crime Stoppers at (806)374-4400 or submit a tip on-line at amapolice.org. ***UPDATE*** 11-25-14 – Sgt. Jason Riddlespurger – Special Crimes Unit Special Crimes Investigators spoke to witnesses in the residence at the time of this murder. The witnesses identified a suspect named Jose Miguel Hernandez, age 21. A Potter County Murder Warrant was signed for the arrest of Jose Hernandez and he is currently at large. Hernandez reportedly does not have access to a vehicle and officers continue to search the Amarillo area for his whereabouts. ***ORIGINAL RELEASE*** On Sunday, November 23, 2014, at approximately 8:58pm, Amarillo Police officers were dispatched to 1621 N. Garfield in reference to a male that had been stabbed inside of the residence. Officers arrived and found a male victim that had been stabbed in the head. Several witnesses were located inside of the residence and have been interviewed by investigators. The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim and fled the scene on foot. Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital. Despite medical intervention, the victim later died at the hospital. The suspect is unidentified at this time. The homicide victim was identified as Sal Ramirez, HM, age 23.
