The Pomona Police Department hosted the annual "Santa Cop" event on Saturday December 13, 2014 where hundreds of toys were collected and donated to local families in need. About 140 families in need attended the event and were able to meet Santa Clause who distributed toys to the children for Christmas. Those families that were identified but could not attend the event were visited by Crime Prevention Officers, Swat Team members, Explorers, Reserve Officers, and Community Volunteers who personally delivered toys to those families. Overall about 170 families received toys that would have otherwise gone without gifts for their children this Christmas.
