The Redwood City Police Department Captures Residential Burglary Suspects Caught on Home Surveillance Camera
On December 15, 2014, the Redwood City Police Department was contacted by a homeowner reporting an in-progress burglary at her home in the Farm Hill neighborhood. The homeowner had installed an alarm and surveillance camera system at her residence and was able to remotely observe burglary suspects rummaging through her home. Our officers responded immediately, causing the suspects to flee and abandon the items they had stolen from the residence. Officers were able to locate and arrest two suspects running from the scene shortly after they arrived. Both suspects are adult residents of East Palo Alto.
Due to the homeowner’s effective use of available technology, her immediate reporting of the breach of her home, and the short response time of the Redwood City Police Department, these suspects were caught in the act of a residential burglary.
Carlos Yepez, 20, and Alonso Godinez, 18, both of East Palo Alto, were booked into the San Mateo County Jail for Burglary.
Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to contact Detective Roman Gomez at 650-780-7620.
