On Saturday December 13, 2014 at 09:53 AM, the Green Bay Police Department was dispatched to the west side of Green Bay near Western Meadows Dr. regarding a suspicious person going through mail boxes. As officers arrived on scene, a male matching a description given by a witness was observed speeding away from the area in a vehicle. As officers turned around at La Count Rd and W. Mason St to perform a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle, the male driver sped away w/b on W. Mason St at a high rate of speed, recklessly weaving around slower traffic. Officers began to pursue the suspect vehicle for a short distance, but terminated the pursuit on W. Mason St at Hinkle St after the suspect vehicle began to reach speeds in excess of 105 MPH. The responding officers reported last observing the vehicle turning from W. Mason St onto S/B US 41.
After terminating the pursuit, pursing officers slowed to the speed limit and began to follow the vehicles last known direction of travel. A short time later, dispatch advised they were getting numerous E911 calls reporting a multi-car accident on US 41 at Lombardi Ave. Upon officers arriving at the accident scene, a motorist pointed out a male, matching the same description given by witnesses on Western Meadows Dr., as the male who caused the accident. As officers approached the male, he took off running from the officers w/b from the scene, but was subsequently chased down on foot and taken into custody. The male was identified as a 31 year old male from Milwaukee, who now being held on circuit court charges of knowingly fleeing an Officer.
