Whitley County Trooper Recently Promoted to Detective

(Fort Wayne, IN)-An Indiana State Police Trooper assigned to Whitley County was recently promoted to the rank of Detective and re-assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division at the Fort Wayne Post.

Trooper Andrew B. Mills, 31 who is a native of Columbia City was 2001 graduate of Columbia City High School. He attended Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne (IPFW) and in 2006, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice.

Mills was accepted to the 68th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy and on December 21, 2007 he was appointed as a Trooper and assigned to the Toll Road Post. In August 2011, Mills transferred to the Fort Wayne Post where he was assigned patrol duties in Whitley County. On November 16, 2014 he was promoted to the rank of Detective and will continue investigative duties in Whitley County.

During his career, Mills has served the Department as a Field Training Officer, an Emergency Vehicle Operation Instructor, a member of the Honor Guard and as a member of the Clandestine Laboratory Team. He and his family are residents of Whitley County.
