Greene County – After observing a hitchhiker walking on State Road 54 just after 6:00 pm yesterday evening, off duty Trooper Richard Klun offered up his car for heat and transportation to Bloomfield. After initially refusing, the hitchhiker, who identified himself as Clifford J. Emery, 59 of Bloomfield, (Photo 1) agreed and got in to Trooper Klun’s car.
Once in his vehicle, Trooper Klun immediately detected a strong odor of marijuana about Mr. Emery’s person. Emery was then found to be in possession of marijuana, paraphernalia and pills without a prescription.
Emery was transported to the Greene County Jail on the following charges;
Charge 1: Possession of a Schedule II Substance
Charge 2: Possession of Marijuana
Charge 3: Possession of Paraphernalia
