Dear Nixle User,

Indianapolis – As part of a continuing US Department of Homeland Security Investigations and Indiana State Police investigation about a large synthetic drug operation from October of 2013, investigators developed information about a safe owned by former Hendricks County Deputies Jason & Teresa Woods.  A search warrant was obtained to open the safe which was found to contain more than $80,000 cash and over 100 grams of synthetic drugs.  This resulted in an arrest warrant being issued for the husband and wife, Jason Woods, 44 and Teresa Woods, 34 for two counts each of ‘A’ Misdemeanor possession of a synthetic drug.  Both suspects were arrested at 10 a.m. this morning at the Indianapolis office of Homeland Security Investigations.  They were later transported to the Boone County Jail for further processing.  The arrest warrant was issued from Boone County due to the safe with the drugs and money being located at a Boone County address.

Community: Synthetic Cannabis Manufacturing Residence Found in Hancock County

Dear Nixle User,

Synthetic Cannabis Manufacturing Residence Found in Hancock County

New Palestine - Early this afternoon, October 4th, [2013] at approximately 3:25 p.m., Indiana State Police troopers and officers from the Indianapolis office of Homeland Security Investigations served a search warrant at 4556 County Road 650 West, New Palestine and discovered an alleged synthetic cannabis manufacturing and distribution site.

Earlier this month officers executed search warrants at a residence and a warehouse in the Indianapolis area. Information was obtained that led investigators to this residence which is being rented by persons that have yet to be identified. No one was at the residence during the execution of the warrant.

Officers located two out buildings that were being used for the alleged manufacturing and distribution of synthetic cannabis. Investigators recovered over 500 pounds of finished product, that was ready for packaging, and 800 pounds of unprocessed flower plant material, along with numerous packaging material.

“This appears to be one of the largest, if not the largest, synthetic cannabis operations discovered in Indiana to date.” stated Indiana State Police Detective Taylor Shafer. “Finished product sells for twenty to thirty dollars for 3 to 5 grams. This operation had over 2.4 million dollars in finished, ready to be packaged, material.”

No arrests have been made and the investigation is continuing. Anyone with information regarding this case or any illegal drug operation can call the Indiana State Police Drug Tip Line at 1-800-453-4756.
