A powerful cold front will track through Southwest California tonight into early Friday with potential for strong thunderstorms capable of producing intense rainfall, strong winds, high surf, and dangerous cloud to ground lightning. TIPS TO KEEP YOU SAFE:
Ensure rain gutters are clear of debris
Ensure objects over 4 feet are strapped down or removed from doors/windows
Avoid showers/baths if you hear/see thunder/lightning
Avoid driving unless necessary
Slow down and allow for more time if you do have to drive
Check your flashlight batteries in the event of a power outage
Charge your cell phone and/or tablet batteries
Identify your local SCE number for power issues or concerns in your area
Sand bags are available to residents if needed at the City Yard
