UNIT:  LASD Narcotics Bureau

NARRATIVE:

On Tuesday, December 9th, 2014 at approximately 9:00pm deputies assigned to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, along with personnel assigned to the LA County Fire Department, responded to the 49900 block of 253rd Street West, Neenach (unincorporated Los Angeles County) regarding a structure fire call.

Deputies along with fire personnel found a building on the property that appeared to have suffered an explosion and was on fire.  Firefighters and an LA County Fire Department Hazmat Crew worked quickly to extinguish the fire. 

Deputies began checking the location for any occupants that may have been injured in the explosion.  While checking the location, Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Patrol Deputies saw what appeared evidence of a possible “Honey Oil Lab.”  Detectives who assumed control of the investigation found and recovered a significant amount of evidence and the investigation is ongoing.  No suspects have been arrested.  No further information is available for release at this time.
