Emergency Operations Center Activated
The National Weather Service has issued high wind and flash flood watches for all of the San Francisco Bay Area through Thursday. We are anticipating that Healdsburg will receive some extreme weather related to this storm, with heavy rain and high winds. The City Manager called for a Level 3 Activation, of the Emergency Operations Center today at 2:00 P.M. The activation will provide a coordinated approach for city staff in the monitoring of possible impacts from the storm and the collection and coordination of information.
All city departments are diligently working to reduce the impact of the storm and preparing for emergency response.
Utilities Department:
The public works department is coordinating with other city departments and facilities by checking generators and assuring adequate supply of equipment and resources. They have also been clearing out debris, mud and leaves that might cause obstructions and drainage issues which will reduce flooding in flood prone areas.
Sand bags will be available for pick up by Healdsburg city residents at 3 North Street (Cerri Building). In a severe storm emergency sand bag distribution will be staged at additional locations within the Healdsburg City Limits.
If you need assistance from the City's Utility Department we are asking that you please call the Utility Hotline at (707) 431-7000. In the event of an emergency outside of utility needs please call 9-1-1 or police dispatch directly at 707-431-3377.
Fire Department:
The fire department will be staffing additional engines in preparation for the anticipated increased call volume.
Police Department:
Extra police department staff has been scheduled in anticipation of increased call volume.
If you need to be traveling the road ways the city would like to ask that residents respect road or street closures, be aware and do not attempt to drive or walk through floodwaters.
