13 SUSPECTED OF STREET CRIMES, VANDALISM ARRESTED IN EARLY MORNING WARRANT SERVICE

On Dec 9, 2014, approximately 200 officers from agencies across the San Gabriel Valley & San Bernardino County met to execute 17 search warrants related to the a tagging crew/gang operating out of West Covina. These suspects (consisting both of juvenile and adults) have committed numerous acts of vandalism at Orangewood Park and throughout West Covina and surrounding cities. Using technology which tracks tagging, 17 suspects who live in West Covina, Baldwin Park and La Puente were identified. In addition to tagging and vandalism, these suspects are responsible for the majority of criminal activity in and around Orangewood Park. We responded by identifying each person responsible for these crimes and pursuing warrants for their arrest.

The West Covina Police Department was assisted by local, state and federal officers with specific expertise in criminal street gangs. In the end, (11) adults and (3) juveniles were arrested/booked at the West Covina Police Department. Ten of the suspects who were arrested in this operation resided in West Covina. This operation would not have been possible without the support of numerous allied agencies and countless months/hours of investigation by our personnel.

West Covina Police Chief Dave Faulkner said, “Our goal was to send a strong message to this crew and hold them accountable for the damage ($220,000.00) they have caused in West Covina.”
