Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Drug Charges

Muncie – A traffic stop this afternoon on a suspicious vehicle led to the passenger being arrested on felony drug charges. This afternoon, around 4:45 p.m., members of the Pendleton District Meth Suppression Squad were working in the area of E. 29th St. and Macedonia St. when they spotted a vehicle being driven by a known suspended driver.

Trooper Rusty Slater stopped the vehicle at 26th St. and Macedonia. The driver, Matthew J. Delzeith, age 25 of Albany, was found to be driving while suspended. After speaking to the driver and passenger, Slater became suspicious.

Further investigation led troopers to Methamphetamine and pills in the car believed to be Xanax. The passenger, Markus Allen Goodman, age 22, was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Level 6 Felony; Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Level 6 Felony; Possession of Paraphernalia, Class “A” Misdemeanor and Three Counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Class “A” Misdemeanor. Goodman was lodged in the Delaware County Jail.
