Troopers participate in “Christmas for Kids”

On Saturday December 6th, 2014, Indiana Stated Police Troopers, Capitol Police Officers, along with officers from other local agencies, and several volunteers participated in “Christmas for kids” at the Walmart in Camby, IN.

The Trooper Bartram Memorial Foundation and Helping Hands for Freedom partnered to help 107 children have a brighter holiday. The Trooper Bartram Memorial Foundation was able to raise $5000 this past summer by hosting the annual Trooper Bartram Memorial Motorcycle Ride.

Troopers and other first responders treated families in need to a holiday shopping trip they will not soon forget. First they bought necessities, such as socks, underwear, shoes, and coats. Then it was off to the toy department to pick out toys from their wish list.

This program is held in honor of Trooper James Patrick Bartram, who was killed in the line of duty on March 3rd, 1998.

Other participating agencies included Thorntown Police Department, Mooresville Police Department, Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department, Plainfield Fire Department, and Conservation Officers from the Department of Natural Recourses.
