(Etowah County, Alabama) A Tidmore Bend man has been arrested in connection to sexual abuse of a child, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“Walter Donald Edwards, 69, of Gadsden, was arrested on November 30, and is currently charged with sexual abuse of a child less than 12, production of obscene matter and possession of child pornography, all are felonies,” investigator Josh Morgan said.

Sheriff’s deputies responded early Sunday morning to a report of a missing juvenile. When they arrived on scene the juvenile’s parents had found the girl at 65 Trailwood Lane, in Tidmore Bend, which is Edwards’ residence.

Information that Sgt. Brian Smith obtained at the scene led investigators to execute a search warrant at the home, where child pornography was found.

Edwards is currently being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $150,000 cash.
