Clayton County Sheriff's Deputy shot in the line of duty. Suspect apprehended. Click for details Sheriff Victor Hill 
On December 3, 2014 at approximately 11:00 pm a Clayton County Sheriff's Deputy was shot while involved in a Vice Operation at 6603 Church St in Riverdale Georgia. Officers returned fire and the suspect, Raymond Deangelo Hamm, fled the scene.
Shortly thereafter, the Clayton County Police Department apprehended Raymond Hamm and took him into custody without incident. .
The officer was given immediate First Aid on the scene by an employee of the Clayton County Fire Department.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is conducting an investigation into the shooting of the officer. The suspect was not injured during the incident.
The officer was shot one time in the leg and is presently being treated for his wound at a local hospital. He is expected to fully recover.
The Sheriff and the employees of the Clayton County Sheriff's Office would like to thank the Clayton County Police Department, The Riverdale Police Department, The Clayton County Fire Department / EMS, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and any other agency or entity assisting us in the resolution of this Critical Incident.
