The Morgan Hill Police Department wants to wish everyone in our Community a safe and happy holiday season. Each year we see an increase in both auto theft and auto burglaries; therefore we would like to provide a few key tips to help our community from being victimized:

Tips to PREVENT auto theft and auto burglary:

•Remove your keys from the ignition.
•Lock your doors and close your windows.
•Park in a well lit area.
•Install an audible alarm.
•Use steering column collars (The Club or something similar).
•Use window etching (have the vehicle´s VIN number etched into the glass.)
•Install a starter “kill-switch.”
•Equip your vehicle with a tracking system (GPS).

Things NOT to do:
•Don’t leave your vehicle unattended with the keys in the ignition.
•Don’t leave personal possessions (purse, laptop, packages from the store, cell phone, GPS, etc) visible within your vehicle.

If you are a victim of a crime, immediately notify law enforcement of the incident.
