Detective charges Spruce Pine man with stealing gun 
Detective Paul Alkire of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Phillip Ray Jordan, 49, of Spruce Pine, with felony larceny.
Gladys Rose, of Spruce Pine, reported on Oct. 1 that someone stole a $500 handgun out of her vehicle while she was in McDowell County.
Alkire said further investigation showed that Rose gave Jordan a ride to McDowell County. It was after that that she noticed the firearm missing.
