On November 25, 2014, Forest City Police Captain Captain Donnie Hensley presented Sgt. Josh Bumgarner, Sgt. Brad Moore and SPO Luis Hernandez with their Region C Criminal Justice Law Enforcement Committee Citations for actions related to two separate investigations. Captain Donnie Hensley recommended each of the officers be awarded citations by the Region C Committee. The Region C Criminal Justice Advisory Committee is comprised of law enforcement professionals from Rutherford, Polk, Cleveland and McDowell Counties.
Sgt. Bumgarner received his Region C Citation in reference to a vehicle stop resulting in the arrest of a suspect and the seizure of 19 baggies of marijuana totaling 46 grams. Captain Hensley advised,
“Sgt. Bumgarner did an outstanding job of going beyond the reason for the initial stop and as a result made a very good arrest. Sgt. Bumgarner is an outstanding asset to the Forest City Police Department and I would like to thank him for a job well done.”
Sgt. Brad Moore and SPO Luis received Region C Citations for their quick response and investigation of a business alarm that resulted in the arrest of a breaking and entering suspect at the Food Lion on October 7, 2014. Captain Hensley advised, “As a result of their outstanding police work the suspect was arrested and the merchandise was recovered. Both of these officers are great assets to the Town and the Forest City Police Department.
