The Green Dot Scam: Someone claiming to be from a law enforcement agency calls a potential victim saying they have outstanding bench warrants for their arrest.
The caller says to avoid jail time, the person must buy a Green Dot card and upload money on to it. This is a scam. People should not to buy the card or give out credit card information.
Grant County residents who have been a victim of the scam should call 509-762-1160 to report the incident.
