Investigation Leads to Arrest of Oolitic Deputy Town Marshal

Lawrence County – A month long investigation by the Indiana State Police Criminal Investigation Division along with the Lawrence County Department of Child Services resulted in the arrest of Deputy Town Marshal Bill Allen on the following charges;

1) Child Molesting “A” Felony
2) Child Molesting “A” Felony
3) Child Molesting “C” Felony

Mr. Allen turned himself in to authorities at the Lawrence County Correction Center earlier today without incident. His bond was set at $200,000, 10% surety. In Indiana, a Class “A” felony is punishable by 20 to 50 years imprisonment and a fine of up to $10,000.

Any questions regarding Mr. Allen’s employment with the Oolitic Police Department should be referred to that agency.

The Indiana State Police stresses the arrest and filing of criminal charges is only the beginning of the judicial process and the Defendant is presumed innocent until and unless guilt is proven in court.
