Burglary suspect arrested after K9 was deployed.

On 11/22/2014 at approximately 10:40 pm, Deputies responded to the 3400 block of Santa Rosa Avenue at Campways Inc., for a report of a prowler at a residence on the property. Deputies learned that a male arrived at the house and was attempting to gain entry into the house that was inhabited. The occupants of the residence locked themselves in a bathroom as the suspect was trying to gain entry through several windows and doors.

Deputies arrived on scene along with a Sheriff’s K9 and searched the property. The suspect Mark Baker, a 36 year old transient from Santa Rosa was found hiding in the resident’s car. When the suspect was discovered, he refused to follow deputies orders to get out of the vehicle. Deputies attempted to take Baker into custody and he began fighting with the deputies. Due to his non compliance and uncooperative behavior the Sheriff’s K9 was deployed.

Baker was ultimately taken into custody and was arrested for attempted burglary, resisting arrest, prowling and threatening a peace officer. Baker was booked at the Sonoma County Jail after being treated at the hospital for his dog bites.
