Sheriff's "Sweat IV Vets" - Benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office proudly announces the first annual Sweat for Vet’s Competition at the Harris County Sheriff’s Training Academy.

On Monday, November 24, 2014, Sheriff’s Office staff, families and members of the public will participate in a 5K run benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project. Sheriff Adrian Garcia will introduce the runners and preside over the opening ceremonies. Deputy Jason Denham, who was severely injured in a January auto-accident, will take part in the event. Denham, himself a U.S. Army veteran, will be joined by his wife and daughters during the race.

The event will include both a 1K and 5K run, and is open to the disabled. Racing begins at 8:00 AM at the Harris County Sheriff's Training Academy in Humble, Texas.

Registration remains open.
