Last week in Zone 3, the following Part-1 Crimes occurred:
A grand theft occurred in a Stevenson Ranch hotel on Lyons Avenue. Property taken was unattended during the time of the thefts.
A grand theft occurred over the weekend from a construction site. Property taken was left unattended during the time of the thefts.
A shoplifting occurred from a business on The Old Road in Stevenson Ranch. The suspect was arrested for the theft. The case is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station Detectives.
If you decide to get a head start on the holidays, here are a few helpful safety tips for you to keep in mind while out shopping:
- Always try to park in well lighted areas with heavy foot traffic
- Roll up your windows and lock your cars
- When placing your purse in your shopping cart, use the child safety straps to secure your purse and do not leave it unattended.
- If you choose to place your shopping bags in your vehicle between store visits, place them in your trunk, and not in plain view inside your vehicle.
- Window shades are a great tool to deter crime, day or night; as it makes it more difficult for vehicle burglars to look inside your vehicle.
