Traffic Stop for Domestic Investigation Yields One Arrest

Hendricks County—Yesterday evening at 6:00 p.m., Putnam County Dispatch Center alerted officers to an older model black BMW, eastbound on US 40 from Putnam County. The driver reportedly was involved in a domestic argument with battery in Putnam County.

Trooper Jonathan Cumbie was on US 40 near State Road 39 in Hendricks County and noticed the eastbound 1995 BMW. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as 24-year-old Lucas Cloe of Plainfield, Indiana. During the course of the investigation, Cloe became verbally abusive, agitated, and physically resisted the investigative efforts of Trooper Cumbie.

Lucas Cloe was incarcerated in the Hendricks County Jail for Resisting Law Enforcement and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The battery incident was investigated by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.

Assisting was ISP Trooper D. Baker of the Indianapolis Post.

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
