APD investigating three overnight armed robberies, no arrests at this time..

The Amarillo Police Department is investigating three armed robberies reported last night. It is unknown if the suspects are the same individuals, but there are similarities in the descriptions provided.

The first one reported was at 1:50 AM. A WF working for a local cab company went to pick up two passengers at 4320 Canyon Drive. The two men got into the back of the cab and both put guns to her head. They demanded her money and also took the keys to the cab and her cell phone. She did not know the men's race because they were wearing hoodies pulled over their heads. They left on foot with an unknown amount of cash. There were no injuries, arrests, or additional descriptions.

The second robbery came in at about 3:05 AM. Officers responded to an armed robbery that had just occurred at the Super 8 Motel located at 2909 East IH-40. The male motel clerk reported that two armed Hispanic males entered the front door of the business. One suspect jumped over the front counter, pointing his gun at the clerk and demanding that he open the cash register. The other suspect stood by the front counter also, pointing his gun at the clerk. An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the cash register. The first suspect was described as 5’9” 210 pounds, wearing a red full face ski mask, tan Carhart style jacket, blue hooded top, and light gray jeans. He was armed with a black and silver large caliber revolver. The second suspect was described as 5’7” 180, pounds wearing a red full face ski mask, black puffy jacket, blue hooded top and blue jeans. He was armed with a black and silver semi auto handgun. Both suspects fled the business west on foot. No vehicle was seen. There were no injuries.  

At 5:11 AM, an unknown race male robbed the Hilton Garden Inn at 9000 West IH-40. He surprised the clerk and threatened him with a hand gun. The clerk ran to an office and called 911. The suspect was wearing a tan jacket and hoodie. He had his face covered with a red scarf and a ski mask. He took an unknown amount of cash from the register. There was no vehicle seen, and no injuries or arrests were reported.
